This guide has been written for us by Michael Tidd, Deputy headteacher of a primary school in Nottinghamshire. Read more from Michael on his Blog.

The Government launched a new National Curriculum aimed at driving up standards, particularly in English and Maths. To help your children to meet these heightened expectations, we have created a new assessment system which ensures we are clear about what your children can do, what they can’t yet do and therefore what their precise next steps are so that we can help them to make great progress. This means that for those children that are not yet working within their year group’s new heightened expectations, we can teach them what they need to know or be able to do next and help them to close the gap. At Britannia Bridge, we have invested in the best resources currently available and, in addition, your children now enjoy the very highest quality French and Computing lessons taught by subject specialists. We teach Early Reading Skills through the Read Write Inc programme. Further information can be found Here.

Please find below your child’s curriculum overviews so you can keep up to date with the topics they will be learning over the school year, along with the parental curriculum guide. In addition, we have organised the whole curriculum by subject and year group; please see the document below if you wish to understand what each and every child will be learning in each subject across the school.
